  RE-PLAY is a Research on Play and/in/with the City that discusses the broader definition of the word play as it encompasses the notions of engaging in an activity for enjoyment and recreation, being cooperative, participating but also as a noun, play means the space in or through which a mechanism can or does move => a room for manoeuvre, a margin, leeway. 

  The booklet is an image-based compilation of contrasting practices or theories about Play in the urban environment (Huizinga, Lefebvre, Constant, van Eyck, Matta-Clark, Corbusier and others) accompanied by a question, quote or statement that invites the reader to reflect further on the topic and form their own conviction. 

  RE-PLAY was presented at the 1st Edition of African Crossroads that took place in December 2018 in Marrakesh. 

  Inspired by the idea that the seminar was being held just outside the city, in a sort of autarkic and private bubble, NoRA proposed to sample Marrakesh’s most iconic public space - the Jemaa el Fna square - on-site by installing one of its typical snails stalls in the very polished garden of the seminar’s venue. With its combination of shading, seating and lighting, this simple piece of furniture immediately became a natural meet-up spot for impromptu gatherings where participants would come together throughout the day and co-create a shared space where ideas were exchanged and conversations had. The stall drew discussions from inside the walls into the outdoors.

  「RE-PLAY」は、都市における「遊び」をテーマにしたリサーチプロジェクトであり、「遊び」という言葉の広義な定義を探求します。これは、楽しみや娯楽のために活動に参加することや、協力すること、参加することを含む概念です。また、「遊び」は名詞として、機構が動くための空間や余裕、つまり「動きの余地」や「猶予」を意味します。

  この小冊子は、都市環境における「遊び」に関するさまざまな実践や理論を、イメージを中心に対比しながらまとめたものです。フイジンガ、ルフェーヴル、コンスタント、ヴァン・エイク、マッタ＝クラーク、ル・コルビュジエなどの理論家やアーティストの考えが引用され、読者がさらにこのテーマについて考え、自分の意見を形成できるよう、質問や引用、声明が添えられています。

  「RE-PLAY」は、2018年12月にマラケシュで開催された第1回アフリカン・クロスロードにて発表されました。このセミナーは都市の外、独立的でプライベートな空間で開催されていたことから、NoRAはマラケシュの象徴的な公共空間であるジャマ・エル・フナ広場の典型的なカタツムリ屋台を、会場の洗練された庭にインストールするという提案を行いました。このシンプルな屋台は、日除け、座席、照明の機能を備え、即座に参加者たちが集まり、アイデアや対話を共有する即興の集会所となりました。これにより、セミナー内の議論が屋外に引き出され、活発な交流が生まれました。
